Weekend Tutoring & New Books: Supporting Students Beyond the Classroom

1–2 minutes

College students on break step up to tutor younger peers—with new donated books supporting their efforts.

Thanks to generous donations and dedicated volunteers, our sponsored students are getting extra support this term! Meet the college students helping out each Saturday—and the new books making a big difference.

College Students Giving Back

We’re excited to share that two of our college students, Nelly and Mary, are spending their Saturdays tutoring sponsored children who live nearby. While home on break through August, they’ve volunteered their time to help younger students stay on track academically.

Their commitment is a powerful example of how the Kenya Kids community continues to uplift and support each other across generations of students.

Books That Make a Difference

Thanks to a generous sponsor, the tutoring sessions are now supported by newly donated revision books. These materials are proving invaluable—not only to the students receiving help but also to the tutors themselves.

Nelly shared that the children are thrilled to have access to the books and are already using them to strengthen their academic skills. As tutors, she and Mary also rely on the books to guide their lessons and stay aligned with Kenya’s evolving education system.

A Community That Lifts Each Other

This is a beautiful example of the Kenya Kids mission in action: empowering students to support one another, equipping them with tools for success, and building a community that cares deeply.

Thank you to everyone who makes moments like this possible—your kindness echoes in every page turned and every lesson shared.
